ANNUAL ELECTION MEETING AND NOMINATION PROCESS
The yearly election meeting will be held
7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2023 at the east club house.
MWA Board of Directors
This board is made up of six people who are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the club. Board terms are three years, and are elected by the general members. The terms are staggered, with two board members’ terms expiring each year. The two board members’ terms expiring this year are Kurt Bennett and Gary Delin. After the election the board decides among themselves who the officers will be – President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
To be eligible to run for the MWA Board of Directors you must have been a club member in good standing for at least four (4) consecutive years.
MWA Land Board
This five-member board is not involved in the day-to-day operations of the Club. The Land Board is involved in major decisions of the Club, such as changes to the property, buildings, and land use, by-law changes, and major expenditures. Land Board members are elected to a five year term, with the terms staggered, with one Land Board member’s term expiring each year. The current Land Board member whose term expires this year is John Steele.
To be eligible to run for the Land Board a member must be in good standing and have previously served a term on the Board of Directors.
The nominations for candidates for the Board of Directors and the Land Board begins when this notice is received. You can make a nomination from now until Dec 1, 2022. You can nominate a current member that you think would be a good board member, or you can throw your own hat in the ring by nominating yourself. Remember the requirements for office listed above.
Contact any board member (contact info for board members is on the MWA website at themwa.org under the “ABOUT MWA” menu) and let them know who you would like to nominate, or of your intention to run, by the closing date of Dec 1, 2022. The board will verify the person’s qualifications and confirm that all nominees will accept the nomination. After the nominations are confirmed, a notice will be sent out so all members will know who is running for office. The notice will be sent out by Dec 7, 2022, giving plenty of time for any member to research each candidate prior to the election meeting on Jan 9, 2023.

MWA is a members-only shooting range in Montana affiliated with the National Rifle Association (NRA). Established over 60 years ago, our private nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing members with a safe outdoor environment and facilitating an enjoyable experience for shooting sports, including trap, rifle, pistol, and skeet.
